I worked for many years as a set and costume designer in London's West End before turning to painting full-time.
I have exhibited in various galleries, principally in the UK and have work in private collections in the USA, UK, Austria, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.
My current work has three main themes:
The exotic patterns of the Persian boteh (paisley) device...
...Venice, the city which stood at the trading junction between east and west and whose distinctive decorations drew heavily on Eastern, Asian and indeed Persian forms...
...and harlequin, an ancient comic figure with an equally distinctive motley costume.
My common theme is decorative history.
